This is exactly what I was looking for!
I too had Office 365 Pro Plus installed but couldn't get the "Mail" applet to show in Group Policy. Tried a lot of names such as "Mail" and "MAILCFG32" but it still wont' show up. Used your suggestion and just put in "Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2016)" in the list of Allowed Control Panel Items and now it shows up!
