Today I had trouble installing Office 2016 trial on my Windows 10 computer. When trying to run the installation I got the error message stating:
Error: 0-1012 (0)
I did the following to resolve the issue:
- Uninstalled all previous versions of Office applications
- Ran the "offscrubc2r.vbs" in the Office 2016 package
..\Uninstall\Troubleshoot\offscrubc2r.vbs
- Restarted the computer
- Ran the installation "ProPlus_en-us_x64.bat" again
..\Install_en-us\ProPlus_en-us_x64.bat
Impressions so far:
- All applications are working
- Outlook is very slow switching between mail and calendar
- Excel crashes sometimes during CTRL+mouseclicking

I ran Microsoft's Fixit uninstaller for my Office 2013 to ensure clean installation however the error 0-1012 still showed up for the 2016 installation. After running the troubleshooting tool bundled with 2016, the installation was successful. Thanks, you've helped a lot.
I am receiving the same error code via Office 2013 Home & Business setup. Anyone know if there's a fix for that?

I am having the same problem (Error 0-1012 (0). However, it is a business computer and we are downloading the install directly from Office 365. So I don't have the file you mentioned. Is there somewhere I can download it? I can't even find it on Microsoft's site.
